About the Artist
My experience as an artist started at a young age. I studied the French impressionist movement at the age of ten years old. I started reading everything I could on the lives of artists of that period.
I studied with Myrtle Carlson in Bolton privately for 4 years when I was 14 years old. She was a renowned artist known especially in Rockport Mass. She opened the technical world of painting to me, studying perspective, color, and composition.
As my life progressed, I studied fashion design in NYC at the Fashion Institute of Technology and later studied in Switzerland: art history, fashion design, and painting.
My sensibilities started to flourish with color, textiles, and design. Europe afforded me a great opportunity to experience the culture, architecture, and great museums in Europe, which had a profound influence on my painting. I was fortunate to spend many, many years in Paris where I absorbed the scents, and the effect of color and light on cityscapes.
I also apprenticed in Paris with large cosmetic & fashion design houses which made me truly empathetic to color and design. I studied faces. I had the grand opportunity of using limited edition color palettes on my clients as a make-up artist. I explored the vivid hues of color which permeated Paris, and later my paintings.
I won awards for my paintings in the Lions Club in Connecticut and was commissioned for several paintings in Clifton, New Jersey. I exhibited and sold paintings in the Mystic Arts Festival and Glastonbury on the Green Art Show (Summer 2021). My entire life was, from the age of 10 until present, absorbed with the smoldering colors of the French Impressionist Movement, where I later found my life in Paris.
